I started cloth diapering our daughter the fall of 2010 and wanted to start sewing our own when I realized I wasn't too happy with the commerical diapers, or how most everyone thought they were so much harder to use than disposables. I hadn't sewn in years, save for a couple random projects, and while pregnant had been in tears trying to thread the bobbin on a machine I had been given. So this was a big task I had set for myself - to create diapers that looked nice and actually worked.... It took coffee, several tantrums (rage against the machines) and lots of trial and error, but I managed to finally do it! And after making enough to overflow our diaper drawer, I realized that sewing no longer seemed like such a task like it had before, during the process it had become rewarding :)
