Get to Know
My background is primarily in graphic arts and typography. I have a strong connection with hardware stores, though; as I managed the family business for years -- which, I'm sure, you'll see reflected in many of my pieces.
I opened my home office, Just Your Type, in 2000 to free myself from the shackles of the (yawn) 9-5 office environment. Since then, I suppose, it's evolved into a studio; but, then, maybe it really was a studio all along.
Initially I started beading therapeutically to help with the ravages of carpal tunnel problems. Over the years I've collected many very unique and "worldly" items that I just can't give or throw away. Hence my passion for reinventing them. I started redesigning old pieces from my personal jewelry case; which, of course, evolved into updating my friend's jewelry, too! I have so much fun, that I decided to find out if my creations would sell.
After all, it's not the jewelry's fault if they come and go out of fashion!
