Get to Know
As a lifelong student of art, I find genuine inspiration in the language and beauty of symbols, color, patterns, nature, history, myth and magic. I work in watercolor, oils, acrylic, collage and gouache and like to keep diversified so I always have many projects going on in the various media. I offer beads, jewelry, paintings, painted gifts and cards. I live in Santa Cruz and do all work in my home studio. I sell locally, by custom order and through my online website and stores Etsy and Artfire. In addition to my online clients from around the world, proudly, my beadwork has worn by John Anderson, Robert Plant, the former president of NOW among others.
In 2011 my life-mate began as a fellow adventurer in this work and offers his unique use of archetypal symbols and a more darkly romantic aesthetic to our work. He also is great when designing uni-sex items.
My Blog ( http://blog.whiteowldesigns.com ) titled "A Maker's Day" has many reference posts, resources and thoughts on art and the muse from the every day grind to the more late night "think too much" confessions. Follow me as I bring my work to this online world and grow my business new and fresh. I am excited and excited to show you really cool beads!

A quiet place to work on my beads. There is nothing more soothing than sitting down in my studio knowing I am going to be Making something special.
An example of one of my Medicine Wheel beads. I call these Rainbow Wheels and they are in part influenced by the teachings of Black Elk.
An example of my fire Swirls, made in every shape bead and the swirls come in many color combinations including blue china swirl, garnet swirl, mist swirl and more.
