Lily Born on the 4th of July Doll

I've crocheted for many years, off and on, here and there.  But I have never made a doll.  The people at Sugar'n Cream have a whole series of Lily dolls.  One for every occasion or holiday.  Isn't she cute?  Dressed in her red, white and blue, she is very patriotic!  Who do you know that would like to have this beautiful girl?  ... » Read More

Spring Flings

Spring is finally here!!  Now is the time to get out and spruce up the yard, enjoy long bike rides, lazy day picnics, and lots of cold drinks.  The only annoying part is the condensation on the container.  Your hands get wet and slippery, water drips and puddles on the table.  I've found that these crocheted sleeves eliminate that annoyance so you can enjoy your spring fling.  They help to keep your hands dry while insulating the beverage.  I've hand crocheted these from 100% USA grown cotton.  A ruffled edge will determine her drink from his.Special orders are welcomed.  Choose your color, choose your style.  Would you like solid color... » Read More

2012 Bernat Mystery Afghan CAL

The 2012 Bernat Mystery Afghan Crochet Along has come and gone.  I must say, I enjoyed it as much as I did the 2010 crochet along.  The octagon blocks made for an interesting alternative to square blocks or strips.   Take a look at my finished project and let me know what you think.... » Read More

Crochet Corner

As winter approached a couple of years ago, I decided to get back to crochet.  I participated in a crochet along with the fine people at Bernat.  What a great way to refresh my skills and learn new techniques.  Crocheting also gives my idle hands a constructive purpose for the couple of hours of TV a night as well as being able to participate in a conversation with dear sweet husband.   I have added a section to the shop called Crochet Corner.  What would you like to see in there?  Wearables, home decor, holiday decor?  You name the content, I will try to provide. May God continue to bless you all. ... » Read More

Cute Crochet Hat

Isn't this the cutest hat?  Crocheted in 100% acrylic worsted yarn, the burgundy red will bring you many compliments. The hat can be machine washed and dried and will fit an average teen or woman’s head. My renewed interest in crochet has found me itching to start a new project the moment I finish the current one.  Being a Buckeye I just had to make one in the proper colors.  Check out this hat.  What do you think?  It is sure to keep your ears warm in style.   On to the next project! ... » Read More

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year one and all. May God continue to bless you during this upcoming year. The hot/cold packs were a big hit again this holiday season.  I sold several offline that were intended as gifts.  They are great for all kinds of uses.  Relaxing that stiff muscle is the first thought that comes to mind, but did you know they work well in the bread basket?  Lay one under your dinner rolls to keep them warm and moist on the table. With the new year comes some of the worst cold weather of the season.  Carry a heated corn bag to the car to help keep you warm while the windshield is defrosting. Do you already own a bag, but would like a... » Read More

The Legend of the Candy Cane

According to legend there was a candy maker who wanted to invent a candy that was a witness to Christ.First of all, he used a hard candy because Christ is the rock of ages. This hard candy was shaped so that it would resemble a "J" for Jesus or, turned upside down, a shepherd's staff. He made it white to represent the purity of Christ. Finally a red stripe was added to represent the blood Christ shed for the sins of the world, and thinner red stripes for the stripes He received on our behalf when the Roman soldiers whipped Him. Sometimes a green stripe is added as a reminder that Jesus is a gift from God.The flavor of the cane is peppermint, whic... » Read More

A New Beginning

I just started this brand new shop on Artfire.  I love to sew.  Currently I am specializing in walker bags and other aids.  I've been called the "Pocket Lady" because I want pockets on everything.  Stash it away, but keep it handy.  I have nicknamed my items as Helping Hand Pocket Pouches.  Who doesn't need a helping hand?  Carry this or that from room to room.  Hide it away and clear a night stand.  Or just sooth an aching muscle with a hot pack.  Browse through the several categories in the shop.  Do you have a suggestion or design idea?  I would love to hear all about it! Come by often to see the new listings.  If you do... » Read More
