Today I have so much to be thoughtful and thankful for.  Over the past week my life seems to once again take on a life of it's own!! My daughter Aye has been sick this week too, nothing to bad, the flu and tonsillitis, but it has been a 'quiet' and very 'soft' week!  Now that she is feeling better we have also had some talks, small 'mother daughter' talks, but they have been nice.  My daughter and I have always been very close, but like most kids her age (13) it is getting harder and harder to just sit and 'talk'.  So, between the success and great moments in my Krafty Max Originals career, there have been s... » Read More

Beadwork April/May 2013 'the challenge' Once again I am speechless!   Yes, I know that is hard to believe, but it is true.   As with my last great surprise it all started with a trip to the mail box!   I opened the box and there it sat.... The weekend for us was full of fun and family!  On Saturday we spend the day at Hubby's Forida Nation Guard Unit helping out with a Homemade Chili and Hotdog Lunch fundraiser!!  It was COLD and WINDY, but so much fun!!  It is nice to be able to be around hubby's unit, they are so friendly and so many of them are like family to us - we've been with this unit for over 10 years! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have announced the winner for my Book for Beaders give-a-way - it is Maggie Swanson Moody.  There was also a winner announced by Creati... » Read More

I actually have been thoughtful over this past weeks already.  I have been thinking of home (Northern California) and of my family who mostly still live in that area.  I know that with all the technology and the wonderful photo services now, I can keep-in-touch with everyone, but it is just not the same.  With Airline tickets getting more and more and more expensive it seems like getting from Forida to California (for 3-4 people) just gets harder and harder!!  But I will keep 'smiling' and keep up the phone calls and emails....for me, for now, that will be enough!!  But, I miss my home!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~... » Read More

I have to tell you that living with a child who has mental 'issues' is sometimes very hard.  People on the outside - including family - look at him and say 'he looks normal' or they think that we should treat him 'like normal'.  First off, I have never really liked 'normal', but there is something to say for trying to raise your children the way you were raised and then being told that it is all wrong - for this child only. Monster has his own rhythm and beat to life and although his looks like every other 8 year old on the outside there is a little boy that struggles with EVERYTHING on the inside!  ... » Read More

Many of you know about the upcoming feature in Beadwork Magazine, but what most of you know know is that I have been waiting for almost 4 months for this to come out..... The weekend was a wonderful - fun - family event!! I spent most of my weekend with my kids and hubby!  We watched the Dayton 500 (yes, we are a NASCAR family) and caught up on some gossip from both kids schools!!  :)  It was a great weekend that ended with a game of Yahtzee that my daughter won!!!  There was some beading done, mostly on a BIGGER project that I am working on to enter into some beading competitions, but family was the focus!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have been working on a review item for Sweet n Sour Deals.  I was told that she liked purples, c... » Read More

A few days ago we got the 'cold weather' that everyone in the country has - yes, even in Florida!!!  And although we have kept our house warm - of course - our dog Ziggy just had to make himself warmer!!  We didn't do this to him, he actually 'snuggled' in the blankets on his own....
