Beware of Mass Produced Polymer Clay Minis!


I was recently Googling "polymer clay foods" to see how much other artisans are selling them for, and I was astounded and disheartened to see that there are shops (even here on Artfire), where they are being offered for very low prices. I didn't understand it, as it takes skill and time to craft these little gems. Well, I looked into a couple of these shops further, and discovered that these are not artisans at all! The two I looked into were corporations based in Taiwan and China, and their polymer clay charms are mass produced in a factory. Mystical Minis and Decoden!


After working primarily with beading and wire-wrapping, I have developed a passion for polymer clay! In particular, my interest has focused on creating intricate miniatures in the shape of foods, animals, or scenery. I will be creating a ton of adorable charms, pendants, and even doll house items.
