My new hand embroidery pattern for January featured bluebirds exploring a birdhouse in spring. I decided to take just part of the design and make a smaller project. The little bird section I chose took an evening to embroider and I wanted to make it into a little wall banner I could put up on the wall. I like to have a few of these to change with the seasons or holidays. They store easily and use up scraps, I keep most of my fabric scraps. I took strips of fabric and framed the embroidered design. I designed a little angel ornament with just a few colors so they could easily be changed to fit another colorway or a different project. An angel silhouette surrounded by pink roses and beads. I chose a cappuccino brown floss for the angel and warm shades of pink for the flowers and gold beads. I like victorian colors to decorate for the Christmas season. For the ornament I chose some complimentary fabrics and a satin ribbon for hanging. It takes just a little bit of fabric so it is a nice project for using up little scraps.
