Help me design this tourmaline and pyrite necklace!

I need help! I can't decide whether to make this necklace a short choker, or very long necklace that could be either be worn long or wrapped around the neck twice to make a double strand choker. If I make it long, I can add either freshwater pearls or more pyrite along the length. The chain and gemstones are really delicate, so I'm wondering if making it long will be too much. Corey just bought this sunstone pendant and asked if I had a 24" chain to match. I didn't, but I had a random 18" gold plated chain laying around, so I extended it with freshwater pearls to match her sunstone.
