Taking a plain shirt, one that fits great. A shirt that you love the color of it but wished it has some flair to it. All you need is fabric paint, some brushes, a few stencils and your imagination.I use a graphic to outline my stencil. I simply use clear contact paper, lay it over my graphic (folding it over so the graphic is completely covered by the contact paper on both sides) and then personalize the graphic while cutting it out using and exacto knife. This is an easy way to make your own re usable stencils. Here are examples of my painting handiwork. The customer wanted a ... » Read More
I absolutlely love scarves. I like the lightness of the fabric and the really cool prints. However, scarves just dont have to be worn around the neck. Here is my idea of how to wear a scarf. Turn it into a one shoulder tunic. You can make a sleeve for it, make it a one shoulder or stitch both sides and give both shoulders sleeves. The First Photo is one I did for myself, the following photos are an example of one I did for a customer. This one I did for myself This was the before photo This is how it turned out I wear it as a tunic... » Read More
I love the look of the bangle bracelet, but so many times I find my wrist is too small for the bangles I want. My husband bought my an awesome wire bracelet for Chirstmas a couple of years ago and I absolutely love it. It is an adjustable wrap bracelet. It simulates a bangle but is more like a wrist cuff. Here are a couple I created with crafting wire and wire wrapping glass beads for charms. The next set I am going to make will look like multiple bracelets but it will actually be just one bracelet. Stay tuned.... » Read More
I am so excited that spring here is finally slowly arriving. So to celebrate that upcoming warm weather I am creating some new ways to wear your favorite long sleeve tee shirts. Of course they will be altered and upcycled to a hot new tank top I like to call "Rumba tanks."You have to start with a tee shirt that is 60% or more cotton. No spandex. Anything that has spandex in it will not shape well. The shirt I used was a 60% cotton, 40% polyster blend. This will give you a tubular like rumba strip. If you use 100% cotton, the rumba strips are more feathery like and will "free flow" when you walk Orange colored v-neck long sleeve shirt turned into ... » Read More
I have decided to upcycle some plain tee shirts. I am so excited for spring to arrive I wanted to create some really cool pieces that would go great with shorts, capri's or crops. Braiding and Weaving is a great way to update any boring shirt. Check out the one I already completed for my Artfire store. I stitched a lighter purple satin behind the shreading. I wanted to create a shimmer effect and ensure skin does not show through the shread.I am currently working on four more shirts. Come back soon!... » Read More
