The days leading up to Thanksgiving were crazy. I was behind on production due to commissions so I had to hustle to get pieces ready for Holiday Showcase at the Glasshouse. The display looks great and Black Friday traffic and sales were great. I need to keep the pace throughout the season. Lots planned for December.
My sister Jane came for Thanksgiving and started converting slides onto computer, some great photos of when we were kids. Made me sad to see Mom and Dad, miss them so much. Thank goodness my Dad loved taking slides of everything so we have these blasts from the past.

So another week has started and I feel alittle behind already, how can that be? I did not make it to the studio this am.... did some much needed household chores. I have a commission installation this afternoon and hope to get back in studio sometime this afternoon or evening. I am in the process of grinding/wrapping 15 pieces and need to light a flame to get them done before Black Friday. The Glasshouse at Lorton has a great retail space and I need to have pieces to represent my work. My friend Michelle keeps on me about Santa heads as the ones I make last years sold within two days of hanging! Crazy!

I have been busy teaching two stained glass classes, one for Fairfax Adult Ed and one at the Workhouse at Lorton. I do love teaching. An added bonus in teaching is that I get to see students go out and produce beautiful pieces. Some are truly amazing. My boyfriend is learning how to grind glass and will be moving on to foiling this week. Nice to have someone to share with and great to have the extra help.I need to get into the studio and do some Christmas pieces for Black Friday and the Holiday Boutique at the... » Read More
