So much for my resolution to post at least weekly...

My guilds may be wondering where the heck I've been as well.

Best I can offer is that life happened.  I recently ran out of unemployment and the last couple weeks have been a real struggle for me in a number of ways.  I'm trying to figure out what to do while not succumbing to depression inertia.  I have to think about what to talk about that others want to hear or might find useful.  At the same time I'm starting to be in deadline crunch for Steamcon II - a local steampunk convention that's happening November 19th-21st.  I notice that traffic has picked up here in the last day or so as they have updated the Merchants page with the vendor information and URLs.  Yay!  OMG it's just a couple weeks away!!!  Gulp!!

So, yeah, there may not be a whole lot of content coming out of me for the next couple weeks as I try desperately to keep up with the muse and get all the pieces done I want to finish for the event.  Oh and then there's my own costuming/jewelry to make for it as well.  Gah!  As such, I've been devoting 2 nights a week to working on my costuming and I'm still learning to sew (okay I took a home-ec class a million years ago but I've forgotten much of it!) and read patterns and such so it's slow going at the best of times and last Sunday there was a boo boo where I didn't realize I needed to flip a pattern piece and, well, it's really unfortunate to do that when it's a skirt panel when one doesn't have a lot of fabric and still has a skirt ruffle to cut out.  Doh!  Seriously, I have all sorts of respect for the folks on Project Runway that have to create and sew a design in a day or two.  At this point I'm not confident I will get anything but the skirt done before the convention because, realistically, I only have about 3 sewing sessions to do it (assuming the skirt is done tonight).  It's possible I could have a 4th session but I'm often crazy busy dealing with vending stuff the night before an event (which is when the last session would be).

We'll see what happens.  Whatever will be, will be.
