Sometimes, I Just Don't Know. (posted in 2010)

I have a wide variety of vintage and antique items in my possession, most of which I intend to sell, eventually. What is currently available in my shop is probably not even half of what I actually have. In addition, I am about ready to start going on buying trips! (Very exciting, as I have not had to do that so far.)
I spend a great deal of time researching every item I put up for sale. Unfortunately, sometimes I just don't have or find the information that I need, such as a date or a country of origin. I research in several different ways, including consulting with other sellers, poring over photo databases, checking books out of the library, and sometimes multiple web searches. I'm happy to say that, most of the time, I do find what I need. As of right now, I only have one item in my shop with a date of "unknown."
I want people who look at my items and who contact me about them and eventually purchase from me to be confident in our interactions and to know that what they are getting is quality and authentic. I do everything in my power to insure against "fakery."
That said, I'm just not always going to know the answer to every question. I will answer everything to the best of my ability and provide all of the information I can, but I will also tell you if I don't know something. I surmise there are many sellers out there in the big, wide world who will not do this.
It goes without saying, of course, that nothing in my shop will ever be listed without information. Those are the pieces that, for now, I am keeping to myself. To do anything less would be irresponsible.
