Dr?  Lois?  uop?

Just yesterday I was asked about the meaning of my email address. A gentleman said, "Your email says doctor, are you really a doctor?"  Great Question. Allow me to explain my email address.

The "Dr" part of "DrLoisuop@gmail.com" is because I am a doctor. The title doctor was awarded with a Ph.D. in Technology Management. The "Lois" part of the address is me, myself, and I. :-)  The "uop" stands for Unique Original Person. Huh? Yep, that is what I said. Now, you may ask -- Why? Another excellent question.

Here is my equally excellent answer. My graduate students called me Dr. Lois and so I thought to use that as the user name part of my email. Much to my surprise, there were tons emails in use that begin with DrLois. The search for an acceptable name found me going through DrLois01, DrLois02, and so forth. Finally, I yelled at the computer screen ... I am unique ... I am original ... I am a person .... how can my name not be available. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm?

I am a UNIQUE, ORIGINAL PERSON.  Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm? Lets' try that. So, I typed in DrLoisuop and it was available So, that is how my email became DrLoisuop and now that I am at ArtFire -- I remain unique, original, and a person.

Remind me to tell you the story of "a real doctor!"

And, so it goes . . .
