Garage and Estate Sale Season is Here!

image
I have been meaning to write, post whatever you want to call it,but sometimes it really is the last thing I have time to do!  Why do so many of us find it hard to keep posting regulary?
Because we have so many other things going on I suppose.
Selling vintage at my Refined Vintage store is my passion right now, so as the  beautiful spring weather is getting warmer the Estate sale signs & yard sale signs have been calling to me! I cannot  ignore their tempting signage, especailly if it's from one of my favorite Estate sale companies & they mention, collectibles, antiques, jewelry!  I just have to stop, you never know what treasure you will discover.

I love looking through boxes of books and tables full of glassware, discovering the one item I just can't pass up!
So please forgive me for not keeping up with my blog, but the weather and signs have been calling my name and I always hear them and almost always listen.
So now you know why I haven't been around, because of course there is the post sale bussiness of cleaning & researching, recording & photgraphing which is all part of the fun of selling vintage! I love what I do! If there was only some way to add more hours to the day!

Hopefully soon the new treasures I have found will be for sale in my ArtFire Studio, I can let you in on a few of the items I will be lisitng... an Art Deco jet necklace, a set of 4 Mid Century "Old Fashioned" On The rocks glasses and a vintage Collection of Fly Fisherman Magazines from 1974. Look for them soon!
Meanwhile I have shared a couple of images from other estate sale outings, the sweet look of innocence is depicted so beautifully by Thornton Utz on the "Friend in the sky"  collector's plate.  Another of my favorites estate finds is this gorgeous  glass turquoise pitcher.

Vintage Turquoise Glass Pitcher Optic Swirl Diamond Design

Can you imagine this vintage pitcher filled with ice cold lemon-aid, all frosty and refreshing on a hot summer day?  Or mix up some fruity sangria for a special weekend with friends! That sounds so good to me!

Well, I hope that you will get out to some estate sales or yard sales, church rummage sales or regular old fashioned garage sales this summer, you never know what treasures you will discover. Please share your thoughts or comments, and if you would like you may share photos of your vintage yard sale finds on my Refined Vintage Facebook page,we would love to see what you found!

I love estate sales, too. We don't get too many here, though. Lots of garage sales, but really good estate sales are few and far between. I seem to be able to find things at whatever type of sale I go to. LOL Fabric, new and old are a big draw for me, as well as collectibles. You have a great ArtFire blog, Bridget. Last time I blogged in mine, I somehow lost the text, so there are just photos. So weird looking. I really need to make a new one, but the weather is so fine and I have so much gardening to do. There is always tomorrow.

Haha, its was estate sales, yard sales, etc, that got me selling vintage to begin with, I love the shopping part and poking around everywhere looking for hidden gems! I know what you mean blue morning!

I love to poke around at estate sales! I spend a lot of time saying things like, Oh, grandma has that, or mom has that in the basement. I really enjoy your studio, Bridget, it is filled with many things that are very much like "what grandma has". I love that turquoise pitcher and have pinned and had it repinned. Great blog post, miss going to those old estate sales and poking around in used furniture stores. Sharing your post.

I find it to hard to browse estate sales and not buy! I just don't go to them anymore because I can not resist! Love the painting! Happy finding! <><
