Journaling:
When Rick is out of town, Elizabeth and I will sometimes "live it up" and go out to dinner. It's a really special time for me because it's just the two of us...alone in a booth with only each other to talk to, so a LOT gets said....whether it's school stuff or talking about friends or college or whatever. She is so very busy that it's not very often we get to just sit down and gab, so I love these dinner dates.
On one particular night we were on the way back home from dinner and she was flipping through songs on her iPod (hooked to the car stereo system) and says, "Mom, this song is dedicated to you." And then she played a song that sounded pretty much like rap to me (which she knows I don't like). I sort of rolled my eyes and she said, "Listen to the words." Here's what I heard:
