I'm hoping that this won't be a sort of duplicate blog! I just finished writting one, that I thought was going to publish, but alas, I cannot find it!
I've been gone for just over 6 months. I was in the beautiful city of Colorado Springs helping out my daughter. Of course I got to hang out with my wonderful 12 yr old grandson, and my adorable 2 year old granddaughter, so I really benefitted too!
While I miss them A LOT, I am glad to be home. It's taken about 2 weeks to get engaged in my studio again. My grandson asked me what's my favorite thing to do. Besides hanging out with him, I really think I enjoy painting the ornaments & glassware the most. Even though I spent 4+ years studying drawing and painting, oil paints just don't agree with me anymore. Once the weather warms up, I may just break them out again though! While the glass paints don't work the same as oil paint, they are fun to work with. Painting the ornaments and glass ware, fullfills my deisre to create something aesthically pleasing and my love of design.
I've been knitting and crocheting while I was away, and I'm ready to do something different for a while! Yep, I'm one of those - I have to switch around once in a while. I think this actually helps me to come up with new designs, new ideas, new techniques. But, I do have a nice inventory of hats! I just need to get them all listed - on another venue - my studio on Artfire will be devoted to the glass items.......................................for now anyway! hehe and the just because it worked out this way - my handmade heart appliques. :C
