Continuing Saga of the Yule cookies

We just finished baking the cream cheese roll- outs. Jon helps so much with this. He ferries the cookies to the oven, out of the oven, and to the table. At the table, he gets them offa the sheets, cools them, and stacks them as per type. He brings the sheets back to me at the kitchen table, and we both fill this next sheet up with dough cookies to be baked. All I hafta do is sit and roll the dough out. Of course, I do the washing up... but it's pretty wonderful to have it so easy !

The candy is all done. We made 6 batches of fudge and 2 of Ma Hoffman's rum balls. And a double batch of maple cream caramels, too. Jon took over this job (caramels) cuz he knows that the stirring tools my bad arm. He did it perfectly !!! And that's all the candy we're making this year.

There are about 7 more types of cookie to make. Tomorrow we will probly frost these we just finished. One of the ones yet to do is the gingerbread men, always the last one I do. An arduous endeavor. You hafta grease and flour the trays each time, and roll them out right on the sheet. Then you cut them out, pull the excess away, put on the candies for eyes or noses or buttons, whatever... bake them and untray them. And frost them, with pink and white frosting...

Now is time for me- time. I will probly just sit and crochet... maybe I will listen to a story on my new Kindle ( Jon gave me my presents early, kinda !!)

People, do you know any good books ?? Things you've read that you feel should be classics ? Send me an e mail, I would love to know what my customers read !! I don't have to read the books, I can listen to them with the text- to- speech option, while I crochet or sew. The voice is a little strange but that doesn't bother me at all. It's wonderful to be read to again !

I truly wish every last person on this spinning top could feel as wonderful as I do tonight. I guess it really isn't such a big deal, me and my son baking Yuletide cookies together- - - laughing over jokes we share, talking about people we know and love who we send these to... But it just makes me all- get- out HAPPY !!!
