I've always fond of hearts. I like drawing hearts and all that. I guess I'm just too hopeless romantic not to like hearts. But not many heart jewelry that I liked. Most of them that I came across were either too girly, too elegant for my taste, too small. As a former(? probably still is) tomboy, I like things that aren't too feminine but still pretty. So as a jeweler I created my own heart jewelry.
My heart pendants have this tough look. They have thick frames, net weave, and bail design. Not too feminine and very substantial. They look good both as a choker and as a long necklace. Look their best when worn with plain top. Ruffles may bury it.
The
first two in the series were successfully moved across the country. Then I felt like making more, to keep. So I created this Purple Heart Pendant from this amazing drusy Agate. The crater that's full of crystal drusy was right in the middle and making it almost symmetrical. I loved it and wore it. Showed it to my local client as a sample, she loved it and bought it. Well, how could I say no? lol. But trust me, it was quite hard to let go I almost said no. Agate is a translucent stone. Light can get through it. A very pretty stone. I think it looks great coupled with Copper, don't you think?
Another local client picked a heart stone from my stash. It was a Red Jasper. Red Jasper is brick red and has white-cream and black strips/pattern on it. This heart stone was highly polished giving it a mirror finished and both sides are domed and equally as pretty. It was calling out for a double sided pendant! This time it was a little bit different on the weave and bail design, all in Copper. But I loved the result! It was my most intricate heart pendant yet. The Queen of Hearts, not to be mistaken by the one from Alice in Wonderland ;P
These two hearts may be sold but I'm planning to make more! I still have a lot of heart pendants in my stash -->
