I love it when idea hits me in the middle of the night! lol.
My aunt from America liked my jewelry but she had something specific in mind that I didn't have in my stash. So she commissioned me to make her a small red pendant in oxidized sterling silver a night before her flight back to the USA. Being a substantial jewelry lover, this was quite a challenge to me. We went back and forth chatting through e-mails to find her the perfect red color. Finally I suggested this CZ red briolette and she agreed. What I had in mind didn't work out as well as the sketch so I scrapped that idea. I didn't make anything for months because my aunt prefers to see the jewelry in person. I knew that she'd come back to visit at the 27th and I still didn't have anything for her.
My parents planned to visit her (she was at another city) on the 29th and suddenly that night, I was hit by inspiration at 1 AM. I worked for 4 hours straight creating this pendant, even managed to use the scrap wire from the failed design mentioned above, finished at 5 AM, put it on the dining table in hope my parents would see it and bring it with them in the morning. Around 10 AM, I got the news that my aunt loved it! <3 YAY! Mission accomplished!
They brought the pendant back to be oxidized, I added a chain, and Voila! Here it is :) It's adjustable at 16 and 18 inches per her request! In total, this necklace took about 5+ hours to get done (including oxidizing and polishing time). The tiny beads at the bottom are red garnet and sterling silver beads. Initially i had 6 red garnet beads on it but I had to crush one cos six were too much. *slam!*
This is the initial sketch I did. Still look pretty similar yet somewhat different :D
