This vintage red cedar cutting board with a turned wooden handle, was made for kitchen decoration, probably in the 1950s. It is painted with yellow pop-art style lettering and a cartoon image of a domestic woman washing dishes in a tea-length dress, apron, and high ponytail.

This cutting board is emblazoned with the popular saying, "No matter where I serve my guests, It seems they like my kitchen best."

The lower end of the cutting board says, "Use me for a cutting board for meats, cheese, oranges, lemons, and limes." The wood is stamped in ink, under a layer of cracked clear varnish, "Underground Gardens."

Condition notes: The clear varnish is a little crinkled on the surface of the wood (the back is unvarnished), but otherwise this is in like-new vintage condition, and possibly looked just like this when the original owner purchased it. I doubt it was ever used for any other purpose besides as a wall hanging. When I got it, there was an old twist-tie threaded through the hole in the handle for hanging. Sold as is.
