The polymer clay pendant is slightly over 1 inch in diameter, and designed with extruded snakes in different shades of blue over a metallic blue foil dome. The metallic background was achieved by burnishing blue foil transfer onto a thin sheet of blue clay and wrapping it over another dome of clay. For the extrusions I used a mix of shades that includes a "granite" type of clay, which contains silver colored flecks.
The piece is coated with a thin layer of water based polyurethane gloss on the front for shine. The bail is secured with a strong adhesive.
I strung the pendant on nylon coated jewelry wire with faceted czech crystal beads in a medium blue, hematite discs, and tiny blue glass seed beads.
The necklace fastens with a plated lobster claw clasp and extendable chain, and measures from 17 up to 21 inches.
