Yes, it's knitted, but yes, it is a real hollow piggy-bank.
He is to encourage young ones to save - he has no sharp edges and cannot be smashed.
He is hand knitted inside and out and stiffened with EVA foam - this means he can be washed when he needs one. (That would not have been possible if I had used cardboard as a stiffener)
He has a little knitted plug to keep the money in until you want to spend it. With a love-heart button attatched to the plug to make it easier to get hold of to remove.
He is in a modern turquoise colour and the other is purple, but you can have him in any colour you like for no extra cost - just ask.
