Brooke Van Gory FAQ
Please review my shop policies before ordering. If you have a question that is not answered below, please contact me before you order. Please also note, that once an order has been placed, I order all of your custom fabric from my end. After you have paid for your order on a custom bag, there is no refund. Should you have any questions regarding this policy, please feel free to contact me.
What kind of bags do you offer?
-All of my bags are listed on my products page, and you can also compare bags side by side from that page.
What are your current fabric choices?
I can pull fabric from anywhere, The world is your oyster. Any available quilting
cotton fabric can be used in the panels on your bag! I have a Pinterest account, with boards where I pin different fabric inspirations here: http://pinterest.com/brooke_vangory/
Sites from which I frequently purchase are: www.fabricshack.com, www.equilter.com, and www.fabric.com.
**There are separate listings in the shop for bags created with Spoonflower fabric, or with import Japanese fabric**
How soon will I get my bag?
-Because all of my bags are completely custom, please allow 3-4 weeks for me to complete your item.
I can't wait that long, so can I pay extra for a rush order?
-I'm sorry, but no. Each bag is created on a first come, first served basis. Please check with me on the current production time, as sometimes I am running ahead!
What are care and washing instructions on bags?
-All diaper bags and purses: Spot clean with mild soap and then hang dry. Should your bag need a deep cleaning, run on a delicate cycle in the machine, then hang dry.
-Wet bags and pouches: Machine wash and then hang dry.
-Changing pads: Machine washable, dry on normal cycle.
-Buoy bags: Machine wash and then hang dry.
What if my bag needs repairs?
- If your bag needs minor repairs like replacing a broken zipper or restitching a pulled seam, please, contact me at email@example.com. Bags damaged by use *may* be able to be repaired, on occasion. please e-mail me for a repair estimate with photos of the damage. (Please do not toss your bag in the washing machine or run over it with your car. I'm only human and can't repair every type of damage).
Payment Information: Payment is required before any work will begin on your bag (including helping with fabric selection, and ordering fabric and materials).
Do you give military discounts?
-No. However, I am always offering sales, though, and that is when you can find my best pricing.
Do you ever run sales?
-All the time! Please check out my Facebook page for the most up to date information, as it is the only place I will announce sales.
Do you offer gift certificates?
-Yep! They are all listed in the ArtFire shop, but if you need a specific amount on a gift certificate, you can contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Do you do wholesale orders?
-Not at this time. I do, however, offer bulk discounts for orders over 500$. Please e-mail me for pricing.
About my bag/design:
Instead of two standard straps, can I opt for a single adjustable strap?
Yes, for a $7.00 upcharge. Said strap can either be detachable, using the normal hardware on the bags, or the strap can be the primary strap for the bag. Please specify upon ordering.
Can I add a zipper to my bag?
Zipppers come standard on all bags except the tote. Because of the nature of the tote's design, I am unable to attach zippers to these bags.
Can I add a magnetic snap closure to my bag?
Yes, you can opt to put a magnetic snap on any bag instead of a zipper.
I'm an artist, too! Can we collaborate on a bag?
-Absolutely! I am always looking for new ideas and projects. Please contact me at email@example.com with some examples of your work.
What is YOUR favorite bag to make?
-Yours! My favorite bag is always the one I'm working on!
Why do the artist bags cost more?
-When you purchase an Artist bag (including but not limited to Rocky The Zombie, Loco Folko, and Krissi's Art Studio, Wenchkin), you aren't just getting run-of-the-mill fabric, you're getting custom hand-painted artwork on your bag. A portion of your bag cost goes directly to the artist.
