Eirewolf's Policies
Welcome to the ArtFire shop of Eirewolf Creations! I am Erin Metcalf, the artist also known as "Eirewolf." Here you will find original fantasy sculptures and handmade leather masks and accessories, all designed and made by me. Thank you for visiting my shop!
I want you to be happy with your purchase. Please contact me with any questions you might have before buying, or with any problems, questions, or lavish praise you might have after receiving, my creations! :-)
If you'd like to see some of my past works, please visit my online gallery at www.EirewolfCreations.com.
PAYMENT:
Buyers outside the U.S., please pay via Paypal. Within the U.S., I accept Paypal or USPS money orders. You do not need to sign up for an account with Paypal to use it to pay via credit card (although Paypal limits the number of times you can do this without an account).
If you are mailing a USPS money order, please send payment within 3 days and please contact me to let me know you are doing so. I may cancel the sale and relist the item if I don't hear from the buyer within that time.
LAYAWAY:
I will consider layaway for items over $150.00. I generally require 25-50% down (nonrefundable), depending on the price and popularity of the piece. Please contact me about the piece you want to purchase on layaway and we can discuss terms.
California buyers: Paypal should add state sales tax when you check out. If you're paying via money order, please add 7.25% to the total (minus shipping). Please add 8.25% (and contact me for possible hand-delivery) if you live in Santa Clara County.
SHIPPING:
If you are in the U.S. and you purchase more than one leather item, I ship the additional items at no additional cost. I will combine shipping on leather masks and accessories for international buyers. Please contact me with a list of the items you want and your postal code, and I will reserve the items for you and adjust the shipping charge to reflect the actual cost of the combined items. (Unfortunately I cannot combine shipping for the clay sculptures, as they are more fragile and must be packed in separate boxes.)
I ship via USPS, Priority Mail (or Express Mail if it's cheaper or specially requested and paid for), or First Class International for most leather masks (unless Priority or Express Mail International is requested and paid for). I may ship via First Class Mail Package for some small items like bracelets (and will say so in the item description). I pay for insurance myself, or personally guarantee my items.
My shipping estimates for the U.S. show the maximum (furthest distances); I will refund the difference if the shipping cost is more than $2.00 less than the estimate. (This shipping difference refund can only be issued if you have a verified account with Paypal. If you don't have an account with Paypal, please send me your zip code for an accurate shipping cost before purchase.) Sculptures can be fragile, so I pack them very carefully and often double-box them to protect them from rough handling by the post office. I would rather pay a bit more for shipping than go the cheap way and risk breakage.
For the same reason, it may take me a day or two to pack a sculpture, depending on complexity and fragility. I would much rather a sculpture reach you whole than rushed. (If you do need a quicker delivery, please contact me and I will do my best to oblige. Extra shipping charges may apply.) Leather masks and accessories do not generally need a double box or extra time (unless they are being custom-made).
I may use Signature Confirmation for items over $100.00 to make sure your purchase reaches the right hands (yours!).
If you pay with Paypal, I will ship to the address Paypal has on file for you. If that address does not match the address given here at Artfire, there may be a delay while we sort it out.
INTERNATIONAL buyers are responsible for any duties, tariffs, or VAT that may be levied by their country's customs office. I will not declare a purchase as a gift, as I could be held criminally liable for falsifying customs forms. Insurance is NOT available to some countries including Israel, Mexico, and many African countries except via Express Mail International, which costs more. In such cases the buyer assumes all risks of breakage or loss of a sculpture (and the item will not be returnable) unless the buyer chooses to pay extra for Express Mail International (and I will pay for insurance).
If your country is not listed in the shipping profile or if you want to opt for Express Mail International (or Priority Mail International for leather items), please contact me for an exact shipping charge. Please note that I am not able to ship to all countries, especially items made with natural materials.
REFUNDS / RETURNS:
I pack my items very well to ensure a safe journey to you. The Post Office occasionally seems to employ football players to drop-kick packages, however, so I insure most sculptures over $50.00 (and personally guarantee all other items). Should your purchase arrive damaged, please keep all packing materials to show the Post Office, and contact me within 7 days of receipt of the item. I may ask for a photo of the damage, to help determine if I should repair, replace, or refund. My items are one-of-a-kind, sculpted by hand, so each situation is unique. Together we will work out an acceptable solution.
Please understand that these sculptures are lovingly created by me, the artist, and are one-of-a-kind. They are not mass-produced in a factory. Therefore, please purchase responsibly and ask any questions you might have before buying. If you wish to return an item for reasons other than damaged-in-transit, you must contact me within 7 days of receipt. A 15% restocking fee may be assessed, and the refund issued (less the restocking fee, if applicable) after I receive the item undamaged.
Any returns must be carefully packed in their original packaging (unless the box was damaged in transit), and must be returned using the same mail service (e.g. USPS Priority Mail) and fully insured for the purchase price (if originally insured). I will pay the return postage for items that arrived damaged; the buyer pays the return postage for items returned for other reasons.
MASK RETURN POLICY:
"What if the mask I purchased doesn't fit?"
I design my masks to fit the average adult face. Of course, not everyone has an average face, and sometimes a mask just doesn't want to cooperate. Some suggestions that might help are to gently flex the mask to widen or narrow it, and/or use pieces of sticky-back felt (which I provide) on the inside of the mask to make it sit more comfortably. If it still just won't fit, I will accept returns for a full refund if you notify me and send the mask back to me (Priority Mail with delivery confirmation if in the U.S.) within 7 days after you receive it.
ADDITIONAL INFO:
Commission inquiries are welcome!
As with all original artwork, my sculptures should be displayed away from direct sunlight. They should also be protected from dust as well as curious little hands.
My leather masks are designed to handle normal wear, but please don't wear them in a rainstorm or immerse them in liquid, as too much moisture can damage the leather and/or dyes.
These sculptures and masks are created in a smoke-free environment. They are sealed away or displayed in a protective curio cabinet in my home, until the time comes for them to journey to a new home.
