For custom work requiring a special order or purchase of supplies I require a nonrefundable deposit of 25% to cover the cost of buying new supplies and to pay for my time to design your item. You are not required to purchase your item if you are unhappy, but you will not receive a refund for the deposit. The reason I do this is because I had a customer ask me to make her items which cost me over $150 in supplies and special tools, and once I bought those items I never heard from her again. I want to discourage people who enjoy asking for custom made items with no intention of actually making a purchase. And yes, it's true, there are people out there who do that.
