I primarily ship USPS for all but very heavy items, and do post office runs twice a week.
I will replace prints damaged in shipping; I prefer to receive the damaged print back so it can be used as collage fodder, and cover the return postage.
Usually prints are available in several different sizes, and sometimes different surfaces (matte, luster, metal) so ask if you want something a little different than what you see listed.
I try to maintain very high archival standards, and my matted prints are all matted using conservation techniques (which are both archival and reversible.) I do my utmost to mat my prints to standard frame sizes, so you can buy an "off the shelf" frame; I'd rather you have more budget for art than requiring custom framing (use the money you save to buy more art! Or a cookie!)
