The Sepia Gryphon is a leather mask in beautiful rich brown tones, perfect for your mythical creature costume. This beaked mask is a unique piece for a fantasy masquerade, costume party, Mardi Gras, Halloween, LARP (live action role play), or even a themed wedding. It can also be displayed as a unique art piece. The gryphon (also spelled griffin or griffon) is a legendary beast with the head, wings, and forelegs of an eagle and the hindquarters and ears of a lion or other wildcat. This mask may also be used as a hippogriff (think of Buckbeak in Harry Potter), as the creatures' heads are quite similar.

The Sepia Gryphon mask is dyed light brown, enhancing the natural character of the leather. The feather details as well as the beak, ears, and eyes are painted reddish brown colors. The details were hand-carved and the mask sculpted from a single piece of vegetable-tanned leather, using a technique similar to boiled leather ("cuir bouilli", used for historical armor). It is flexible and lightweight, and designed to fit the average face. It has been sealed to protect it from moisture. Golden organza ribbon ties complete this elegant mask.
