Slide behind the wheel of the gorgeous onyx black '51 Chevy pickup truck with this 5x7 art photo of the classic car's dash. Every square inch of the pickup's black-and-chrome cab has been so carefully polished that its surface is gleaming, not a spot marring its smooth beauty. The owner of the vintage Chevy was tickled at all the attention being received by his car, and happily acquiesced when I asked if I could photograph the classic pickup's beautiful interior.

Photographed at an Ohio classic car show, the tag hanging inside the 1951 Chevy pickup indicates that this beauty was competing for a prize. Though I wasn't able to stick around to see the results of the judging, in my book, this was one of the nicest vintage cars (okay, trucks!) there that day-hence the title of this 5x7 car art photo, "Best In Show". Believe me, this black beauty was just as gorgeous on the outside-but the thought and style that went into designing not just the pickup's exterior, but its interior, too-really made me smile.

The vent louvres of shiny silver chrome, seen through and just beyond the steering wheel as we peer into the pickup's cab, are capped off with a thick chrome bar bearing stylish capital letters proclaiming this to be a Chevrolet and nothing else. The chrome steering column is topped off with a smooth-surfaced black and silver Chevy bowtie cap to match the truck's interior (probably not original, but it looks sharp, doesn't it?). The icing on all this beauty's cake, though, is the cloud-studded blue sky, quite visible in this 5x7 art photo, reflecting off the classic pickup's flawless black dash.

Beautiful as this '51 Chevy pickup is, the lack of a radio set into its perfect dash makes me think this was a workhorse during its early years. Now, though, the black truck is clearly a pampered pet! Her hauling days are over, to say the very least. No doubt the retirement has been well earned for this truck.

Usually, I'm a coupe and sedan girl. In fact, I drive a little Chevy sports coupe even now. Let's be honest: I'm, ahhhh, petite. Getting in and out of trucks isn't easy for me. But the classic, vintage pickups like this '51 Chevy are oh-so-handsome, even this vertically challenged dame has a difficult time resisting them at the car shows! Very few pickups and trucks indeed make it onto my "dream garage" list (you know, that fantasy we car buffs have of owning our own Jay Leno-esque classic car collection), but this black pickup truck has earned that rare honour. ;)
