Turquoise Blue Skull with Swarovski Crystals Earrings

Product Description

This pair of earrings features turquoise blue skulls and blue Swarovski embellishments. The skull is not turquoise, but rather dyed howlite, a different gemstone, but still a gemstone. The skulls go from macabre to sparkly cute with the addition of genuine Swarovski crystals.

The earrings measure just over one and a half inches (3.5cm) long and feature a leverback earwire.

Inspiration/Story Behind This Product

This versatile stone is named for Henry How, a 19th century mineralogist, who found it first in Nova Scotia. Because howlite is soft and takes on rich hues of color when it's dyed, it becomes an inexpensive alternative to more costly stones. Its natural color is like snow softly falling. Dyed, it looks like luscious lapis lazuli or cherry red coral or a tantalizing turquoise.
