The fabric of this tablecloth so reminds me of the nineteen-fifties, the farmhouse, and the diner. This lilac and white checkered handmade tablecloth is constructed from a woven cotton fabric that was printed exclusively for a former national drapery and upholstery company. This is a lightweight fabric with a very smooth crisp finish of linens of quality. This hemmed tablecloth will fit up to a 42" (1.0668m) square table which will result in 5" of drop on each side.

When deciding the size of a desired tablecloth, measure the top of your table. Then visualize how much you want the cloth to drape over the edge. Double that number and add it to the length and width measurements of your table top. Then you are ready to order your custom made tablecloth. In some cases I may have to piece the cloth to make it the size you're requesting.

This fabric is an exclusive, copyrighted design from a former wholesaler, I'm told, who did not sell its fabrics to the public but sold to high end designers and architects only. I purchased the fabrics at auction and therefore have limited quantities of each design. Once my inventory is sold I will have no more of that design. The underside of the hem of the tablecloth displays the copyrighted design name and the company who owned it.

I have personally created this tablecloth in my home in a clean environment where no cigarette fumes of any kind exist. I prewashed the fabric to prevent shrinkage. After being fringed or hemmed, I hand press, fold, and seal the cloth into a plastic bag and it awaits for shipment.

To launder: Machine wash separately. Presoak stains. No Bleach. Tumble dry; remove promptly. Use spray sizing to aid in pressing.

I saw tablecloths and an opportunity to help my daughter with her college debt when I saw this fabric on an auction website. The fabrics, some of which were exclusive to the business that had closed, were very high end qualities that were only sold to designers and architects. A former employee of the company told me some of the exclusive fabrics wholesaled for US $100.00 to US $350.00 per yard.

The size of one's table and the size of the cloth ordered to cover a specific table will determine how much drape or drop the cloth falls over the edge of the table.
