This is an American made Woven Friendship Bracelet using the Peruvian Wave design. This friendship bracelet is just over 6 inches long and is 3/4 inch wide.

I chose two blends of purple for this little bracelet. Traditionally, these woven friendship bracelets are tied to the wrist of a friend. It is said that as long as the bracelet remains on the wrist the friendship will last. These bracelets are nearly impossible to tie to the wrist by yourself, so a bond is formed when another person ties the bracelet to your wrist. Most often, this is done by a relative or friend.

Woven friendship bracelets make great gifts for young and old. They can be worn by male or female. They can be worn on either side. Wear one or group them together by color, style or just tie several to your wrist. The more you wear, the more friends you have made!

These woven bracelets were originally from the Peruvian villages near the region of Machu Pichu. They have been made by the village people for hundreds of years.

Recently they have made their way into Mexico and finally the USA.

As a fan of this art, I spent quite awhile trying to learn the technique of this weave. There are thousands of variations!
