Genuine Computer Chip Ball Grid Array Earrings.

Product Description

These are beautiful earrings made from a ball grid array socket that has gold plated elements with a light coating of blue clay and a bare microchip die. I did the clay and mounting by hand, so you will see defects in these. That is your guarantee that a human worked hard on them ;)

Inspiration/Story Behind This Product

While working with various items in my studio I noticed the contrast between the blue and gold elements in the microchip die, and wanted to showcase them in an accessible setting.

I kept hearing about "microchip earrings" on etsy or artfire, and guess what? There aren't any. Sure, there are chip packages, cut circuit boards, and other techy items, but nothing showcasing the beauty and subtlety of a bare microchip, so I have endeavored to make some, and get microchips out of the box, as it were, to be appreciated as the visually stunning things that they are. These earrings are a result of that effort.
