Product Description
Thistle shaped vintage cut glass small dishes. Circa 1970s or earlier. Probably a souvenir item and would make functional trinket dishes, or ideal size for serving butter, jam, relish, chutneys. Also a nice addition to either a vintage glass, and/or Scottish or Celtic collection.

The thistle is the national flower of Scotland and an ancient Celtic symbol of nobility of character and also birth
because the thistle is sharp and like a rose can cause pain!

One little bit of folklore about the thistle tells how this humble plant saved a Scottish castle from a Viking night attack. The story goes that one of the bare foot Vikings stepped on a thistle and cried out - thereby alerting the castle defenders who were able to stave off the attackers.

Excellent condition with no chips or scratches. Still in their original box which shows some wear.
