Antique Tea Set, 19th Century Japanese Porcelain 13 Piece Service

When Tea is an Art.

A stunning 19th century Japanese hand-painted porcelain tea service for four.

The finish is gorgeous ~ light, beautiful creamy white porcelain with petal pinks, indigo blues and sage greens ~ accented heavily with gold, with additional gilt accents throughout.

Look at the teacup interiors ~ gorgeous!

A simply stunning set for display and for use.

The 13-piece set includes the lidded teapot, lidded sugar bowl creamer, four cups, four saucers. The set is flawless ~ there are no chips, cracks, or repairs on any of these 13 pieces.

According to antique porcelains expert, Jan-Erik Nilsson, with whom I've shared information about and photographs of this set: the set is in Japanese 'Nippon' style porcelain with moriage decoration and dates to the end of the 1800's.

The four character hallmark is comprised of characters spelling out 'Mogi', a fairly common Japanese family name and we believe this is a classic maker's hallmark of the artist's signature.
