These socks are now a custom order, as the originals have sold; these lovely shades of light pinks to rose, then lavender through a medium dark purple, with varigated shades of pink toe and heel, layer throughout this gorgeous hand dyed and hand knitted pair of 100% merino wool socks. I may have enough to knit a second pair, or have many other colorways in this gorgeous yarn which I can knit for you. I fell in love with the yarn and just had to knit it up. At 10.5 inches long, they would easily fit a women's size 9-11; they measure 10 inches tall from the bottom of the heel, with 3 inches before the rib, and with 4 inches of rib topped with a comfortably stretchy hand-stitched hem top edge. The toe is grafted resulting in a seamless top of the toe area.

This hand dyed yarn is from the same batch, and shows the fun variations that occur from skein to skein in the same dye pot. I usually do the foot of each sock from the same skein, and then switch to another skein for the leg, so the socks generally match. Each is like a unique jewel for the feet, and will wear in like a dream. As you wash and wear these, the wool will 'bloom' and relax from the very tight twist that it was spun into, and will become your favorite pair of socks!

This is 100% merino wool, and it WILL FELT! Wash this by hand in cool or lukewarm water, no bleach, rinse thoroughly, press between towel layers, and lay flat to dry. I use a little shampoo and conditioner (these have been handwashed once after knitting with Pert shampoo) in the water instead of detergent, as wool is natural hair, and it responds well when treated as such. These should give many years of happy wear if treated as above. You can use whatever shampoo and conditioner you like in the wash water; I just had the Pert on hand at the sink when I went to wash them.

I purchase my yarns from a lady who hand dyes the yarns in up state New York, who does the most gorgeous colors and quality wool yarn. The color is so pretty, I almost can't bear to knit it up and sell the socks, but it does allow me to buy more yarn! Some of them are knitted up with contrast heels and toes, while I knit some completely from the same yarn. I thought I might not like wearing the wool, but found that it is more cushy and wicks moisture away much better than the cotton I was in love with, so I work on making socks every night before I go to bed, for at least a while.

100% merino wool yarn
