These socks are knitted to order, as the originals have sold; the hand dyed 100% merino wool hand knitted socks in lovely shades of turquoise through golden ochre or a colorway of your choice. Please email/convo for available colors and I will photograph the yarns which meet your request.
These are hem topped socks, which means that there is nothing to be tight around the ankle or dig in. Size would range from 10-12 for women, to 8-10 for men; these are rather generously sized around, so at least a medium (would probably be too large for a narrow foot, unless you preferred it roomy).

Because these are wool, they will felt if washed in warm or hot water and thrown in the dryer. I recommend hand washing in a little shampoo and conditioner, rinsing thoroughly, rolling in a towel and pressing out the extra moisture, and then laying them flat to dry. The wool responds very well to the same treatment as hair, hence the shampoo. They will wear for many years if cared for like this. Wool actually wicks moisture away from the skin, and doesn't become wet and soggy like cotton does.

I have been trying out some new finishing techniques for the tops of socks, as well as some different lengths, as not everyone wants a tall sock. These would also be great for someone with swollen feet or ankles for any reason. For those who must watch out for anything which might rub or cause a sore spot, these have no seams; the toe is closed with Kitchener stitch and unless you knew where to look, almost impossible to see where it was grafted.
