This steampunk pendant is made from watch parts and polymer clay. The wings are made from molds that I made myself. I was especially delighted when I found the whimsical gloved watch hand I've placed on the clock face.



Over 2-inches wide and more than 1-inch from top to bottom.

I have recently been introduced to the steampunk genre by my much more informed daughter. I thought it was fun and wanted to try my hand at a few ideas. Time fleeing is a common thread in my mind, as each year seems to be shorter than the last -- one of the problems with reaching a certain age.

I was also stunned to realize that there was actually a use for the twenty or so dead watches I had in my "I'll get around to it" drawer -- one more example of polymer clay's ability to make use of darn near anything! If it won't melt in an oven, there has to be some way it can be worked into a polymer clay project.
