Eugene, the Steampunk Freak Show Curiosity

Product Description
Did you ever have one of those days where nothing goes right? And then they shrink your head! As is evident from the faux leather lacings and screws holding his various parts together, Eugene has definitely had one of those days.

Starting with a paper mache armature that I covered with hand blended polymer clays designed to look like aged leather, Eugene was developed in the Steampunk style, reminiscent of Victorian dime museums and circus side shows (thank you, P.T. Barnum!). He wears a jaunty little gear flower in his steam pipe exhaust to show you that hes really a romantic fellow. His measurements are 6.25- by 8.5- by 5.5-inches. Naturally, he was once much taller.

I have not glazed this piece because I felt that the shine would be distracting. However, if you want me to glaze it before I send it to you, just let me know.
Inspiration/Story Behind This Product
We were listening to a documentary on the start of carnival and circus sideshows the other day and they discussed the various curiosities that people from the Victorian age would pay a dime to see (oh, would that Ripley's Believe It or Nots were that reasonably priced today!). Suddenly, Eugene popped into my head (like they say -- two heads are better than one!!) and now he's here, waiting for someone with as warped a sense of humor as I have to take him home and show him some LOVE!!
