Deep red garnet gemstones and sterling silver necklace.

The deep red garnet gemstones are the feature of this sterling silver ladder style necklace. This lovely necklace can be suitable for any occasion. It can be worn with jeans for that casual look as well as a classical look for that special evening out on the town. It would make a great gift to that special someone in your life. I think every woman needs at least one of these necklaces in her jewelry box. Don't you?

This is also the birthstone for the month of January. This would be a great gift for someone born in January.

I started with a dainty textured sterling silver cable chain, then added the accented links with the multi faceted garnet gemstones in the middle. Completed the necklace with the garnet gemstones at the bottom of each chain in the middle. There is a lobster claw clasp with a few more garnet gemstones at the back.

The necklace is 17 1/4 inches in length. The drop in the middle is 3 inches. I have oxidized this necklace to add character and charm and then I tumbled the necklace for durablity and shine.

I've included a picture of the necklace in my hand so you can see the actual size of the necklace.

To keep your shine to this necklace as well as all sterling silver and copper jewelry, store them in an airtight ziplock bag. This will help preserve your jewelry from tarnishing. To polish your jewelry, just get a soft jewelry polishing cloth from a jewelry store.

I have recently I accuried a lot of vintage jewelry from one of my aunts. The jewelry dates back to the 1930's to 1960's. I remember as a child playing with her jewelry when we went to visit her, and I remember this one necklace in particular. I just had to recreate it here.
