OOAK Dwarf Riding Blue and Green Snail Fantasy Polymer Clay Sculpture

Product Description

This whimsical one of a kind fantasy sculpture portrays a Dwarf riding a blue and green snail. I painted a real sea shell with Halo Blue Gold Lumiere Metallic acrylic paint and used a custom mix of blue acrylic paint for the stripes. The snail's body was sculpted from a mix of blue and green sparkle polymer clay. I dusted the eye stalks with iridescent Sky Blue Pearl Ex powder for a little extra shimmer. I used blue glass beads for eyes and painted the pupils with black acrylic paint. The Dwarf was also sculpted by hand from polymer clay and wears red pants and a blue green shirt. I used tiny beads for his eyes and painted the green irises and black pupils with acrylic paint. He has brown hair and a brown mustache and his hat was made with a swirled mixture of red and blue green clays. I sealed the snail with Fimo high gloss glaze and signed and dated the bottom of this unique creation. The sculpture measures 6 1/2 inches long and 3 1/2 inches tall. This fun piece would make a wonderful gift for anyone with a sense of whimsy!

Inspiration/Story Behind This Product

This was a piece that I had been thinking about for a long time, and when I stumbled across several sea shells I had in storage, everything seemed to come together at once. This sculpture was a great deal of fun to create, and I plan on making more snail riders in the future. ;-)
