This handcrafted necklace will definitely make a statement! The thick copper chain holds a stunning paisley pendant, worked in layers of copper with a creamy chunk of agate in the center.

Making this pendant was a labor of love. I used thick genuine copper to create the outline structure of the pendant, and then hammered and sanded parts of it for texture. Then I wrapped a nugget of triangular agate with delicate copper wire, and attached it to its copper housing so that it dangles freely. Strips and wire of copper in various thicknesses were then used to create the dancing swirls, the tight curls, the sweeping curves, the weaving and the embellishments over the paisley pendant. Finally, I polished sections of the pendant to create the effects of shadows and light to give this pendant a more 3-D feel, and attached it to the strong copper chain with a toggle clasp in the back. All the metal in this necklace is genuine copper.

This necklace is 28 inches in length. Necklaces of this length are called opera necklaces, and as the name suggests, this style is an excellent choice for wearing to parties or special occasions. The pendant is 3 and half inches in length and 1 and a half inch at its widest point. For most women, this necklace will accentuate the bust, with the pendant at or just below the bust line. If you are buying this for a gift, it is reassuring to know that this is one of the most popular necklace lengths, and looks great on most women.
