This is a fantastic photographic print of a Victorian wedding couple, with two people who appear to be the maid of honor and the best man. They are all dressed in their wedding finery, sitting for a portrait against a photographer's studio backdrop. Judging by the style of clothing, I would venture to guess it was taken sometime around 1900, probably at least a few years before 1900.

The men have high stiff collars, bow ties, 6 buttons on their vest fronts, and pocket watches. The groom's hair is wavy but neatly parted to one side. The woman have high-necked dresses and an abundance of flowers. Not only does the bride have her bouquet, but she has flowers on top of her head that trail down both across her breast and down her back under her long train.

I don't know who the people in this photo are - it was purchased at an estate sale and there are no markings - no names, no date - on the back and no one holding the sale knew who they were either. The print is mounted on heavy card with a thin line of embossing at the top and bottom. The picture is 4" X 6" (10 cm X 15.3 cm).

I was mesmerized by this picture when I found it at an estate sale amid some old broken jewelry. I wonder who these people were and did they have a long and happy married life? No one at the sale knew who they were....
