These fun dangle earrings feature pretty Czech-made shell-shaped glass drop beads that most closely resemble scallops. Their base color ranges from white to cream, and they have touches of blue color in them as well as a sprinkling of brown and dashes of orange-brown.

The drops hang from a dangle of non-tarnish silver-plated wire on which are added faceted yellow Czech rondelle beads with a round of lapis blue (synthetic) between them. The yellow rondelles have a glaze of dark brownish gold added to them, which is a nice complement to the darker color in the shell beads.

Silver-plated scallop bead caps are added to the lapis, and the dangle is topped with a wire wrap. The hooks are French style and sterling silver, with the sterling mark on the rear part of the wires. They come with clear earnuts (also known as stopper) to help keep this lovely pair more secure on your ears.

The length is around 2 1/8 inches, including hooks. Please see my photos for a picture of the measurement shown by a ruler.

This is a great pair of earrings for casual wear, especially when beach strolling or dreaming of it!

I bought the Czech glass shell beads and yellow beads in a little shop in Bristol, RI. The town is on Narragansett Bay, where the scent of the sea is always in the air. The beads reminded me of the very many times I've strolled on the beach and casually kept an eye out for interesting shells. They also reminded me of my mother, who loved to go shell picking and would have loved these beads. I thought of her a lot when making these earrings, and of a lovely day with the sun shining, the waters deeply blue, and everything right with the world. :)
