One of a kind cobalt blue genuine sea glass (beach glass) wire wrapped pendant, suspended from a handmade Celtic infinity knot.

Who says beachy can't also be elegant? The beautiful hand forged Celtic infinity knot from which the bold, rich cobalt blue sea glass nugget hangs brings a touch of elegance and femininity to this unique piece.

The Celtic infinity knot consists of two asymmetric figure eights, also known as the eternity or infinity symbol, joined together, representing two hearts coming together as one for eternity. The swirls and curves of the Celtic knot mimic the undulating waves of the ocean, making it a perfect match for the bright blue sea glass shard.

This lovely shade of cobalt blue sea glass is becoming more of a rarity with each passing day, but it is still one of the most desired colors of sea glass around the world. Cobalt blue glass was used in the late 1800s and early 1900s as medicine and poison bottles, and more recently as milk of magnesia, vicks, bromo seltzer or noxema bottles. These products are now all distributed in plastic jars and bottles.

Just like a snowflake, no two pieces of genuine sea glass are alike! Each one has been tumbled about by the ocean waves for decades, smoothing the edges and giving each one its unique shape.

This particular piece was collected from the shores of my parents' home in Newfoundland.

The entire pendant measures 2 inches, or 5 centimeters in length, and about ½ an inch or 1 centimeter in width. It hangs from a 16 inch silver plated cord.
