The samples shown were created from photos and memories. What I love about Memory Quilts is what they capture: a photo only captures a moment in time; a video captures a series of moments; a Memory Quilt captures the pictures, memories, and even artifacts combined into a single work of art!

The process is easy and fun for your family. I will send you a questionnaire for you to fill out. Then I will creatively interpret what you have given me.

The quilt can include photos, drawings, old family letters, programs, etc., which can be reproduced on fabric, then sewn into the quilt (Also known as picture quilts.)

As shown in my samples, I can also add figures and landscapes, blending memories and time.

I can incorporate many types of objects, too, like a glove, a baby bonnet, a matchbook, a necklace or watch--the possibilities are endless.

My process is to work closely with you, via emails, photos of the work in process, and phone calls if you like.

The price of a commissioned work depends on the complexity and size of the piece. The price on this listing is an example. After we establish a size and approx. price for your piece, I require a 50% down-payment. I will ask for the balance only after you receive photos of the completed artwork and are satisfied with it. After I receive the balance I will ship the piece to you.

I began making landscape quilts 12 years ago. They are my favorite thing to sew.

I have devoped the memory quilts as a result of requests to duplicate a scene and "add" some things.

The "3 Horses" quilt was a combination of 3 photos someone sent me.

The "3 Sisters" quilt was done for their mother, including memories of their childhood. All the grandchildren are pictured engaged in activities they like doing.

The "Western Wedding" quilt is actually a memory quilt of my own wedding, with my 4 sons and my husband's 2 in attendance. I included actual fabrics used in our wedding attire!
