"Rose Garden Window" Art Quilt- Stones and Walls Series Wall Art-.5"x7.25". This small art quilt is from my Stones and Walls series inspired by stone walls used in architecture and my love of English cottage gardens. It shows a wall of a stone home with roses climbing up the wall and around the window. The stone wall was "built" stone by stone with small pieces of cotton and silk fabrics in soft colors. Freemotion quilting adds texture to the stonework.

The climbing Rose vines were made by couching on a green yarn, then flowers and leaves were fused appliqued on. Clumps of Delphinium flowers and tiny white flowers add to the composition. The Delphinium flowers are made of a deep blue dyed silk fabric. Freemotion quilting with clear thread accents the flowers, and a green thread was used to add more leaves to the vines.

This piece is ready for framing, mounting onto gallery wrapped canvas, or however you would like to display it. Anyone who loves gardening, architecture and nature would love this beautiful little work of art. It is signed by the artist on the front and back, and there is a label on the back of the piece with the name, date of completion, and other information.

This series of Art Quilts is inspired by stone walls and architecture. I am surrounded by stone walls and my gardens which I love to bring to my quilts. This series celebrates the gardens that surround many stone homes, including beautiful Rambling Roses.

I create my art quilts so that I can continue to "garden" all year, even when the weather outdoors doesn't allow me to dig in the ones that surround my home.
