27 ct Sodalite cabochon gemstone - Romantic style necklace.

This Pendant necklace was made using a beautifully marked sodalite cabochon - the setting is 100% copper. The 24 inch Necklace was made with a spiral design antique copper plated chain, antique copper jump rings and an antique copper Romantic Rose Design Toggle clasp.

From Gemstones of the World by Walter Schumann: The name sodalite refers to its sodium content. For jewelry, only blue tones are used; sometimes they have a violet tint; frequently they are dispersed with white veins from white calcite. It has a vitreous luster. Deposits are found in Brazil (Bahia), Greenland, India, Canada (Ontario), Namibia (transparent crystals), Russia (Urals), and Montana. Used as cabochon and for necklaces and ornamental stones.
