Made from a variety of natural and man made objects, this assemblage sculpture speaks to us of the magic of regeneration; one thing becomes another, the old from the new, change through growth. Here, the fairy seems to hover over a desert waste land on a barren tree. But there's no sadness to the scene because she has just dropped the seeds of new life to the ground -- hope for the future. Throughout history people have looked to stories of fairies and the like to restore the human spirit through fancy, and that is the job given to the fair folk in this artwork. Reclaimed materials such as felled ash tree branch, morning glory flower seeds, and naturally shed snake skin, are present to express the concept of regeneration, as well as to add texture and form. The snake isn't actually in the scene, however. Only his skin lets us know he's come by, shed off the past, and moved on to something new already. The snake tells us that we can do the same.
