This is, by far, my favorite piece. This choker is made in the European 4in1 chainmail pattern and along the top and bottom, it is gathered to give it a bit more elegant look. Accented with bold loops of a Byzantine chain and connecting at pendants made out of Helmschain. Hanging in the center and as the focal point, is a larger pendant similar to the two smaller pendants, also made of Helmschain. The helms chain pendants have a splash of color added to them to help them stand out just enough.

Made entirely of bright aluminum rings (with the exception of the rubber colored rings in the pendants), this piece is amazingly lightweight and comfortable. In the back (not shown) there is a simple chain that the clasp can connect to at any point so one size fits all.

I've done several different pieces using one chainmail pattern and several small pieces but one day, I decided I would try something a little more adventurous. I've always liked the European 4in1 pattern and that was what I started with. Showing it to my wife, she thought it was nice, but something was missing, so she recommended adding the gathers along the top and bottom and that really helped it to get that look I was going for. I then added the byzantine loops hanging from the choker. I wasn't sure how to connect them, then I remembered the helmschain pendants I had and put one of them on there and, low and behold, it just all fell together. If anyone is interested in doing something like this, learn from my mistake, the loops hand much different on someones neck then they do when laid out on a table, after having my wife model it for me, I had to go back and readjust the loops to get them to look as though they were passing through the pendants.
