HISTORY:

About 10 years ago (when I was a younger Luxe), this HOT dress came to my friend's consignment shop. I saw it and thought "HEY! If I ever get married, THIS is a totally SWEET and SANTA FE dress to get married in! I mean... in case anyone DECENT ever asks me, that is..." It is about a foot too long for me (since I am 4'11" and all), but I figured with serious PLATFORMS, this would be "MY DRESS."

Well, there is no marriage on the horizon for yours truly... but since I AM moving and need to lighten my load... here we have the world's prettiest Vintage Wedding Dress! It SHOULD be dry-cleaned, and it's a bit crunched from being stored... but other than that, it's in very lovely condition, and is sure to be a wonderful selection. Truly, it's great for occasions BESIDES Weddings, too! The lace is super sweet and the style is to die for. Since I love this gown so much, I am totally psyched to give it a lovely and fabulous new home -- AND that WEDDING it SO deserves!

CONDITION: I can find no holes in the lace, no stains, no messed-up torn or ripped seams etc... while I would say that this was likely worn at some point, there just does not appear to be any damage or wear to the lovely dress. I tried it on once for about 6 seconds. I did not walk around in it, go outside, sit down... you get the picture. I would never call ANYTHING "Mint", but... for a dress that's at least 30 years old, this is in super killer vintage condition. There are a few imperfections here and there, but nothing I would call a hole, stain, rip...

Here is a list of all the issues I can find
1. one of the loops for hanging the dress is missing.
2. Should be dry-cleaned
3. Has been stored in a non-smoking wing of a SMOKING home for 10 years (in a space bag) -- you should know this.
4. Elastic on top ruffle may be a bit long in the tooth, so possibly an alteration needed to tighten it up -especially for folks with skinny upper bodies.
5. No size or style tag

TAGS SAY:
As you can see, there is a Gunne/Jessica San Francisco Tag intact, clean and in position on the interior of the gown.
The former owner removed the tag which should be under this tag -- the one with the size, material and STYLE number on it! So ...

STYLE/info: This dress has 2 layers. The under-layer is a rayon type satin sheath in a rich bone/cream/parchment color. The outer layer, of course is the tiered Lace. There is a rear zipper which is partially obscured but NOT totally hidden. Long satin belt can be worn a few different ways as you criss-cross it, make a bow etc across the lovely ivory lace bodice.

The top portion of the gown has a lovely lace shoulder tier. Your arms go through the "arm holes" of the attached lace ruffle, and then the ruffle is held up by your assets, mostly. If you are a skinny-minnie, you may need to have someone alter this bit to fit you so that you do not lose your gown at an inopportune moment... Also, the SEAM at the waistline area is CRUCIAL in terms of how this will fit you. This may be more of an UNDER-BUST seam, depending on how you are proportioned.

MEASUREMENTS: Please read carefully. If something makes no sense, please ask me. :) Since the dress has TWO layers, please note which layer we are talking about as we move on...
MATERIAL is NOT stretchy except for the lace ruffle on top.

LENGTH: FROM top of lace ruffle to hemline of OUTER skirt is about 48 inches.
Inner sheath is about 2.5 inches shorter than outer lace.

*ARMPIT TO ARMPIT: 15 inches across
*ARMPIT (lower aspect) to SEAM at UNDER-BUST/UPPER WAIST: 6.75 inches
TOP OF ARMHOLE (of ruffle) to UNDER-BUST/UPPER WAIST SEAM: 16.5 inches

BUSTLINE: 13 inches across not including extra material allowed for the breasts. IF you are seriously well endowed, this measurement may not work for you.

SHOULDER to SHOULDER: Lace piece measures 24 across and this part does have stretch so that you can move -- the lace will sit on top of your shoulders, so you do need space to move!

RUFFLE: 8.5 inches wide (or high, when measured top to end of lace)

ARMHOLE: Top of lace piece to armpit of dress is 10 inches length

*FRONT of dress TO SEAM OF WAIST: 8 inches

*SEAM is 12.5 inches across

*SEAM to HEMLINE of LACE is 39 inches

*WAISTLINE area is about 13.5 inches across (this is slightly down from the SEAM noted above.)

INNER SKIRT measured loosely:
This is very accommodating, but in case you are wearing an under-skirt or petticoat:
UPPER HIP AREA: 21 inches across
LOWER HIP AREA: 33 inches across
HEMLINE ACROSS the widest part of bottom: 39.5 inches across

"Will this fit Me?"

I cannot answer you this exactly, BUT the main measurements here are going to be the ones I have put a * next to.
1. Where does the Under-bust or Upper-waist seam hit ON YOUR BODY?
2. Will these measurements work for YOU?

If you take the "front of dress to waist seam measurement" and sort of measure yourself based on this, you can tell if this will work. If you are like me, and cannot sew, maybe show this listing to a seamstress or *helpful* friend or relative -- I am happy to answer their questions as well. :)

Shipping: This is going INSURED PRIORITY. Period. No Parcel Post.

NOTES: Luxe, here! Thanks for visiting the NEW Vintage section of my Artfire Studio!
I will be adding many items from my PERSONAL collection, as I prepare for a move up North.
You are invited to ask questions BEFORE you purchase. I am glad to assist you. I ALWAYS have more pictures ready for you to see - just ask. It is important for you to know that **my home IS a SMOKING and DOG-dwelling home**. While the items here have been stored for AGES in an area where no smoking takes place, AND where Fudgy (the dog) does not go, you may be one of those folks who can detect micro-particles and allergens. I would ask that you DO NOT purchase from my shop if you are sensitive to aromas, allergens, smoke and dust. As you can see from some of the pics, I LIVE in the desert - the windy high desert ON A DIRT ROAD. It is dusty here. ALL VINTAGE SALES ARE FINAL, so please buy with care. That said, I hope you enjoy my shop and bookmark it for future enjoyment. For NEWER items from my personal collection, I invite you to visit my BONANZA BOOTH. (search for BudgetLuxuries)
